This project addresses youth unemployment in Tetovo by connecting young job seekers with local businesses. Through mentorship, career guidance, and startup support, 30 participants gained skills, launched businesses, and secured jobs. With free workspace and seed funding, the initiative empowers youth and fosters long-term economic growth in the region.

Project Overview:
In March 2021, the national labor report revealed that Tetovo had the highest unemployment rate in North Macedonia, with youth unemployment being a critical concern. In response, this project was launched to connect local businesses and young people, boosting youth competitiveness in the labor market and addressing skills mismatches.
The project initially facilitated dialogue between business leaders and key stakeholders to identify the needs of both employers and job seekers. These discussions highlighted the challenges young people face in securing employment and the gaps between youth skills and labor market demands.
To directly address these challenges, 30 young people in Tetovo received mentorship from local business leaders, focusing on resume building, career skills development, and navigating job opportunities. The project culminated in a career fair, giving participants the chance to network with a range of regional businesses.
Beyond job placement, the initiative nurtured entrepreneurial spirit. Mentors guided participants in refining their business ideas, creating detailed business plans, and providing support to turn concepts into viable startups. These new ventures received seed funding to grow and work toward long-term sustainability.
To further support these startups, the project offered free workspace to help entrepreneurs establish and grow their businesses. ILPP collaborated with institutions and angel investors to secure ongoing funding, ensuring these startups have the resources to thrive.
Through this project, lasting connections are created between businesses, youth, and investors, empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs and professionals in Tetovo.
