New Practices by ILPP
ZELS consistently shares good practices that are of interest to municipalities, clearly confirming the cooperation between the civil society sector and local self-government in the direction of integrating gender equality into local policies and budgets.
A new innovative practice in the work of the Commissions for Equal Opportunities between Women and Men has been introduced by the Institute for Leadership and Public Policy from Tetovo. This civil society organization demonstrated initiative by including a delegated member of the organization in the Commissions for Equal Opportunities between Women and Men in municipalities across the Polog region.
“During the past period, our Institute signed six Memorandums of Cooperation with six municipalities in the Polog region, namely: Bogovinje, Brvenica, Gostivar, Tearce, Tetovo, and Zhelino. Through these signed memorandums, cooperation between the Institute and each of the mentioned municipalities has been formalized. As a result of this cooperation, we can highlight that the Institute has its own delegated member with full voting rights in five municipalities. This demonstrates that municipalities have taken a serious step toward cooperation with us, while also recognizing the Institute as an important factor that can further encourage the implementation of the agenda for equal opportunities between women and men in the Polog region,” representatives of ILPP from Tetovo stated.
