Labor Market Skills Training for Young Professionals: “Empowered Youth – Resilient Economy” in the Polog Region

May 01, 2024

On October 20, the Institute for Leadership and Public Policy (ILPP) successfully conducted the first youth training under the project “Rely on the Youth – Empowered Youth, Resilient Economy” in the Polog region.

Participants learned the fundamentals of creating an effective CV and motivation letter. Youth acquired practical skills in writing, formatting, and presenting their professional experiences. Trainers guided participants through examples of professional CVs and motivation letters, allowing hands-on practice in small breakout groups. The training emphasized how to market oneself professionally and increase the likelihood of securing an interview by producing strong application materials.

The second training session, held on October 27, focused on interview preparation and presenting oneself professionally in the workplace. Participants explored behavioral interview questions, techniques for answering questions about qualifications, skills, and experience, and the importance of researching potential employers beforehand.

Youth were also taught strategies for making a positive first impression and using professional body language. Through group and partner activities, participants practiced professional interview etiquette and responses to common questions. Trainers and volunteers facilitated discussions and exercises throughout the sessions. By the end of the program, participants had a clear understanding of how to write a professional CV and motivation letter, as well as the skills needed to confidently present themselves as young professionals in the labor market.
